After a discussion with Afrika, I figured I'd put up some details up on post-60 grinding and tanking pointers for anyone else with warrior alts they're going to level into Outland.
Personally, I tried some DPS specs and I'm too used to tanking specs I have much better survivability and and percentage bonus on on my strength which means I tend to have a higher attack power in my tank spec than in my dps spec. I also have the ability to stun in any stance (for emergency bandaging) and Last Stand (for that burst of HP when I'm near death because of an add pull), so it works for me, but most people probably can't stomach levelling in tank spec. Whatever works for you
For tanking:
Warrior Talents
Minimum level required: 70
Number of talent points required: 61
Arms Talents - 11 points
Deflection - rank 5/5
Iron Will - rank 5/5
Anger Management - rank 1/1
Fury Talents - 2 points
Cruelty - rank 2/5
Protection Talents - 48 points
Improved Bloodrage - rank 2/2
Anticipation - rank 5/5
Shield Specialization - rank 5/5
Toughness - rank 5/5
Last Stand - rank 1/1
Improved Shield Block - rank 1/1
Improved Revenge - rank 3/3
Defiance - rank 3/3
Improved Sunder Armor - rank 3/3
Improved Taunt - rank 2/2
Improved Shield Wall - rank 2/2
Concussion Blow - rank 1/1
Improved Shield Bash - rank 2/2
Shield Mastery - rank 3/3
Improved Defensive Stance - rank 3/3
Shield Slam - rank 1/1
Vitality - rank 5/5
Devastate - rank 1/1
In the protection tree the only talents I didn't take were Focused Rage (which reduces the cost of offensive abilities by 1 rage each, could be useful for grinding, and might help with making Devestate cheaper while tanking), One-Handed Specialisation (since I'm hitting for between 100 and maybe a max of 250, the bonus damage of 10 - 25 isn't worth me spending 5 skill points in my opinion), Improved Disarm (there is a huge mix of melee and spellcaster mobs in the expansion, and disarm has never been THAT much of a boon that I'd want to extend it), and finally Tactical Mastery (Stance Dancing is the bread and butter of some warriors, I've NEVER used it, and I've managed to tank my way through AQ, ZG, BWL, MC and all the 5-mans without it quite happily, plus I all warriors keep 10 rage per stance switch anyway, which is enough to get me going).
I also put 11 points into Arms for +5% parry, +15% resist to stuns and charms and the ability to passively generate 1 rage point every 3 seconds while in combat. That last one is the new Anger Management ability It USED to reduce rage decay outside of combat, it might still do that since I find my rage lasting much longer, now it equals extra free rage for tanking which I'm in love with. That left me with 2 spare skill points which I sunk into +2% crit for general uses since my Blackhands Breadth is now mostly useless (seems like it'll be giving me around 1% to crit at lvl 70)
Since we're back to 5-manning for the time being I've put extra points in Improved Revenge and Improved Shield Bash (normally I might dump one point in each so I have some small chance of proccing a stun or silence periodically), and I've maxed them out since the trash and sometimes bosses in the small dungeons are especially susceptible to stuns and silences. In raid dungeons thats likely to change (Improved Revenge and Shield Bash were mostly uselss since all the bosses and almost every single trash mob was immune, so I might need to respend those points when we start on Kharazan).
Thats really it, there's tons of great stuff in the Tank tree , and the new talent layout means you can even grab all the "essential" tank talents like Improved Defence, Armour, Taunt, Sunder, and Last Stand... and STILL have a full compliment of of talent points to bury in the Bezerker tree (DPS tanking anybody? And what about a tank that gets health regen whenever he crits! ) or Arms (Mortal striking, immunity to disarm, its ALL good). There are a LOT of possibilities for combining trees. I invented one combination where you take the Improved Shieldwall from Protection and Improved Disciplines from Arms to give you a 21 second on shield wall that cools down every 20 minutes, which you could use on every boss in the dungeon during the worst part of the battle to give the healer some regen time.
Anyone else want to discuss DPS specs or levelling specs? I'm a noob for warrior DPSing. Imp?
